when something magical happens − 20 January, 2008
a year has almost gone by since i started sharing my stories on dandelife. my main purpose was simply to jot down a few stories from the past that i found memorable. since i was never much of a *blogger* per se, dandelife seem to be the perfect medium for me. i never imagined that anyone would take the time to actually read my stories or even comment on them. over the past year i even made a new friends on dandelife and had the wonderful opportunity to meet kelly and maria in person. that was the icing on the cake. :-)
reading other peoples stories, sharing their joys and sorrow, inspires me over and over again to write my own stories. a story that was somehow touched by their story. i've heard tales of people who have googled themselves and re-connected with old friends after reading a story on dandelife. kelly had told me how its happened to him and others, but i told him that it had never happened to me. that is until ajay found me on dandelife.
one day out of the blue i receive an email from dandelife notifying me that someone commented on one of my stories. when i read the comment i realized it was from my childhood friend ajay. the last time i had seen or spoken to him was when he was in high school. in junior high, his sister suniti was my best friend. tragically i discover that she had commited suicide. inspired by his sister's death, ajay has spent the last few years, writing, producing, directing and starring in a film called *ashes*. i never imagined that i would reconnect with a childhood friend decades later.
my year of sharing stories on dandelife has been an amazing experience, making new friends and reconnecting with old friends. in one way or another our stories are all connected through this magical place called dandelife. i look forward to sharing and reading many, many more stories.
