The “usual” do the same every single day,
Living in normalcy –
Not seeing the “other” world chugging silently away…..

They are the ones, who live in moments,
Choosing not to see….
Abiding by the laws, watching the world go by on T.V.
Shocked by murder, corruption and human nature,
Because to them, they go to work, have children and nurture…

Try to forge, to get ahead, going to work - going to bed
Ignorant to the other side of life,
Paper bag handshakes, corruption rife
Where it’s who you know…contacts
Hidden silent contracts…

Family, friends who protect and share
Invitation – inner circles everywhere,
The “usual” struggle alone to get ahead
The “other” interconnected keeping each other well fed…

Sharing wealth, sharing money
Sharing knowledge – a world of cunning,
A world with laws of its own
A Code of Conduct – tightly sewn
Holding it together, impenetrable
With honour, their strength-in numbers….
All happening while the “usual” slumber….

Politicians, police, your teacher, the priest
A judge, a cook, a nurse, the people you would least..
Expect to be apart of something larger than you or me….
The “others” world chugging in the background silently…

The “usual” and the “other” existing in perfect unison,
Occasionally there is a world collision…

Two worlds there will always be..
To know…is the choice for you and me
Open your eyes and you will see…
Not everything is as simple
As you think it maybe…
