flickr 333: happy birthday! − 3 March, 2007
i went to the flickr birthday party at the yerba buena center of the arts in san francisco. flickr turned the terrific *threes*! met lots of great cool flickr peeps and took a bunch of lame-o pictures. everyone there had super serious cameras i felt like such a lightweight amongst the sea of *real* photographers. however, i did take a bunch of pix with really bad lighting. i have yet to figure out how to adjust the lighting on my new canon g7. i know. i suck. :-P
i saw kevin there and he was in charge of the flickr cupcakes which i indulged in. yummm! met heather and george. they are both very cool flickr peeps. met a guy name *lomokev*. he's the guy who photographed that now famous pic of imogen heap on a *bicycle*. also, i won an auction as well, of this beautiful surreal photograph by zach stern. i was really sneeky and kept asking the flickr auctioneer how many more minutes were remaining in the auction and i snuck in a bid just a minute before heather called time. in the end flickr raised over $5000 for a great organization called, *kids with cameras.*
i was also bidding on another wonderful photo by jason but alas, i was outbid by a guy who was on a mission to win the auction and in the end he did.
funny thing was people kept smiling at me and asked me if i worked at flickr! i take that as a compliment. ;-)
