Digg − 18 December, 2006
After months of slow prep work (and many unsuccessful tries), I made the digg homepage for the first time today.
I was promoting a story in the Christian Science Monitor about the increase in private land conservation from 2000 to 2005. The story had some great numbers -- 37 million acres! -- and it mentioned my organization, The Nature Conservancy.
Growth in the number of diggs was pretty slow at first, but once they picked up, the didn't stop to breathe. The digg story, 37 MILLION ACRES protected from development!, now has 700 diggs and 85 comments.
The Monitor owes me!

BTW, I have made it one of my New Years resolutions NOT to pay so much attention to Digg. It was getting way too obsessive for me there. :-)
