The many friends and acquaintances of Jaiku are working on creating the largest meetku ever. Many have had regional and other meetkus at events around the globe. This is an effort to gather as many Jaikuans at one time. The actual date, time and location is being decided. Your input is appreciated and welcome. Likely aiming for a Mid-2009 date, Facebook just doesn't let an event scheduled more than 1 year out. |

Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day is an annual event, held in late April or early May, in which Ben and Jerry's scoop shops give out free ice cream cones all day. Over one million free cones are given away each year. Charitable organizations are often present at the stores each year and enjoy a significant amount of fundraising success. The first Free Cone Day was held on May 5, 1979. It was done by Ben and Jerry as a customer and staff appreciation event for the one year anniversary of their ice cream store's opening, and has continued ever since. 30th annual Free Cone day is Tuesday, April 29th do it! Ben & Jerry's was one of the first ice cream makers to label their ice creams as free of these rBST hormones. However, some states are now trying to BAN the labeling saying that it implies that hormone-free milk is safer than milk that comes from cows that have been injected with chemicals that aren't even approved in other countries. |
